INVESTING WITH THE UNION COUNTY FOUNDATION

Since 2002 the Union County Foundation has seen a growth in assets from $1,534,287 to $5,091,807 at December 31, 2007—an increase of over 230%. Investing and managing these assets is an important function of the Foundation. A majority of our funds are invested in the "Umbrella Pool". Structured for long-term growth, the Umbrella Pool combines a diverse range of investments in order to minimize risk. Through this diversification of investments as well as close monitoring by the Foundation's Investment Committee the Umbrella Pool has enjoyed competitive returns. Funds requiring more immediate liquidity are invested in our "Short Term Pool", comprised of cash accounts and short term Certificates of Deposit.
